West Tanglewood Retreat: Coastal Living with Water Access Close at Hand

Your beach getaway is waiting in West Tanglewood, where quiet country charm meets the salt-air lifestyle of Brunswick County. This three-bedroom home is partially furnished, with the TV, washer and dryer, and dining set staying put, making it easy to settle in from day one.

Step inside to a bright, open living space with vaulted ceilings, easy-care luxury vinyl plank flooring, and a coastal palette of soft grays and seaside turquoise. The kitchen is made for easy living, with white shaker cabinetry, a mosaic tile backsplash, and a peninsula for casual meals. Just off the kitchen, the dining area has its table and chairs already in place, and a separate laundry room keeps daily life simple.

The primary suite is the showpiece. A rustic sliding barn door opens to an ensuite bath with a clawfoot soaking tub, a vessel sink, and a fully tiled step-in shower accented with colorful sea-life tiles. The bedroom’s wall-mounted flat-screen TV stays with the home. Two additional bedrooms and a second full bath with a step-in tub offer plenty of room for guests.

Life here happens outdoors. The spacious screened porch, with its vaulted tongue-and-groove ceiling and ceiling fan, is the spot for morning coffee, evening breezes, and long weekend gatherings. A sunny open deck adds room for rockers and grilling. Out back, the metal outbuilding is the place to work on your projects in peace, whether you need a car garage, craft studio, workshop, or a relaxing den. The roof and HVAC were both replaced in 2020.

West Tanglewood offers the kind of water access coastal buyers usually pay a premium for. Shared common areas include a covered neighborhood picnic pavilion with tables for cookouts and get-togethers, and residents have access to public stocked lakes within the community. Homeowners who opt into the HOA amenity dues also enjoy a private boat ramp with direct access to the Intracoastal Waterway, making it easy to launch kayaks, skiffs, or center-consoles without marina fees, along with convenient boat trailer parking, the community boat dock, and a fishing pier with covered seating.

The location hits the sweet spot between secluded rural setting and easy access to coastal hubs. The sands of Holden Beach are just minutes away,
